A New Chapter: Learning, Growing, and Sharing Along the Way
October 11, 2026
Welcome to my website, and thank you for taking the time to visit!
For quite some time, I have wanted to create a space where I could bring together my professional experiences, academic accomplishments, research interests, and personal reflections. Over my career in higher education, I have had countless opportunities to learn from students and colleagues, and my own continued journey as a student. Throughout this journey, I realized that I have accumulated a great deal of knowledge and experience worth reflecting on and sharing.
And so, this website was born!
Why I Created This Space
Throughout my career, I have worn many hats: admissions advisor, academic success coach, psychology instructor, researcher, and lifelong learner. Each of these roles has shaped how I understand education, personal growth, and the importance of creating meaningful learning experiences.
One thing I have come to appreciate is that learning does not happen in isolation. It happens through conversations, challenges, experiences, reflection, and the willingness to consider new perspectives. Some of my most meaningful professional and personal growth has come not from finding the answers, but from asking better questions.
As I continue developing professionally and academically, I wanted a place to document that journey. A place to share my research, highlight projects and presentations, explore ideas, and reflect on what I am learning along the way.
I also wanted something that would grow with me. While my dissertation represents an important milestone in my academic journey, it certainly does not represent the end of my learning. If anything, completing my doctorate reinforced just how much more there is to discover!
What I Hope to Gain
On a personal level, I hope this website encourages me to be more intentional about reflecting on my experiences and documenting my growth. Life gets busy, and it can be easy to move from one project, course, or accomplishment to the next without taking the time to appreciate what we have learned along the way.
Writing provides an opportunity to slow down, organize my thoughts, challenge my assumptions, and make connections between ideas that might otherwise remain separate.
I also hope this space becomes a living portfolio of my professional journey. As my interests evolve and new opportunities emerge, I want to be able to look back and see how my perspectives, skills, and contributions have developed over time.
Perhaps most importantly, I want this website to remind me that learning is not simply about reaching a destination. It is about appreciating the journey, embracing curiosity, and remaining open to growth. This brings me back to a perspective that emerged from my dissertation research: transformation is both the journey and the destination. Since then, I’ve embraced this philosophy in both my personal and professional life. In fact, it has become so meaningful to me that I even got it tattooed!
What I Hope Others Will Find Here
While this website certainly serves as a personal and professional portfolio, my hope is that it becomes something more than a collection of accomplishments.
I want it to be a resource for others who share an interest in education, psychology, instructional design, student success, and lifelong learning.
Whether you are an educator searching for a new approach, a student navigating your own academic journey, a professional exploring ways to support others, or simply someone who enjoys learning, I hope you find something here that resonates with you.
Over time, I plan to share research, publications, professional presentations, educational resources, and reflections on topics that interest me. Some posts may explore academic theories or emerging educational technologies, while others may focus on practical strategies, lessons learned, or questions I am still working to answer.
I do not expect to have all the answers, nor do I believe that every idea I share will be perfectly developed. Instead, I hope this space encourages thoughtful conversations and perspectives, as well as opportunities to learn from one another.
Looking Ahead
Creating this website feels like the beginning of another exciting chapter in my lifelong learning journey.
I am looking forward to seeing how it evolves, what new ideas emerge, and what connections might develop along the way. My hope is that, by sharing my experiences and perspectives, I can contribute something meaningful to the broader conversations surrounding education, learning, and personal growth.
If you have found your way here, I encourage you to explore, reflect, and perhaps even reach out to share your own ideas or experiences.
After all, some of the best learning happens when we learn together.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I look forward to sharing what comes next!
